I put this little page together just as a reference for those who want to know my feelings about the Mecham hood.  I was debating between the Mecham and ASCD ram air hoods until I went to GPG '99.  Before attending GPG '99, I was leaning towards the Mecham hood because I liked the more "aggressive" design.  But, at GPG '99 there was one GP with the Mecham hood on it, and it was a TERRIBLE fit.  Not only was the hood a bad fit all the way around, but the "nostrils" were both uneven and terribly shaped.  The owner, Phil P., also had pictures of the hood when he received it.  Both of the back corners were broken off, and had to be re-done before the hood was painted and installed.  Phil also said that the hood itself looked to be used when he got it (and I saw pictures, and INDEED it did.....)  True, this is only 1 hood I saw, but it was enough for me, along with all the complaints about how long it takes Mecham to even get you the product.  Anyhow, below are pictures of what I saw , and believe me, it was much worse looking in person......
